Join us for a trip to Paris, France, where we will explore the many culinary delights this city has to offer! We will cook together using the finest of local ingredients chosen each day from the neighborhood markets. We will enjoy cooking lessons from French chefs, dine in outstanding restaurants, learn about French cheeses, learn about French wines and how to pair them with foods, and taste many of the incredible chocolates and confections that are available in the delightful shops of Paris.
On Monday evening, we will start our adventure with a welcome dinner in a private setting in Paris.
On Tuesday morning, we will start our day with breakfast at Fauchon and an exploration of the gourmet food shops in the 8th Arrondissement. This will be followed by a cooking class in the gorgeous atelier of world-famous chef, Dominique Bouchet (www.dominique-bouchet.com) . Master Chef Bouchet earned two Michelin stars at La Tour d’Argent and two more at Hotel de Crillon before opening his own elegant, intimate restaurant and cooking atelier. After our class, we will enjoy our delicious creations, along with wines chosen specifically for those dishes. That evening, we will have a casual dinner in a charming local bistrot.
On Wednesday, we will start our day on the beautiful market street, Rue Cler. We will shop for fresh, seasonal ingredients for our cooking lesson later that day. Afterward, we will explore the amazing La Grande Epicerie de Paris at Bon Marche. Following a light lunch, we will focus on cheese and enjoy a tasting of fine French cheeses at one of my favorite shops. In the late afternoon, we will have a cooking lesson and dinner in a private apartment in Paris.
On Thursday, we are in for a treat with a cooking class and lunch with Master Chef Martial Enquehard (www.chefmartial.com). Chef Martial, who has a beautifully crafted cooking studio in a trendy area of Paris, will teach us how to make some unforgettable and healthy French dishes in a fun environment. Afterward, we will shop at some of my favorite kitchen stores in Paris. That evening, we will have a speci al dinner with wine pairings at one of my favorite restaurants, Le Versance (www.leversance.fr). Executive Chef Samuel Cavagnis has created a warm environment in a charmingly restored building in the 2nd Arrondissement. His dishes are distinctive and superb, making use of the freshest ingredients available. It is such a treat to dine there!
On Friday, after breakfast and a demonstration on making French-style galettes, we will focus on chocolates. We will visit some artisan chocolate shops and taste our way through some of the best chocolates in Paris. We will end our Paris Getaway with lunch in a lovely Parisian bistro.
